Michael (Mikey) T. George was diagnosed with Leukemia in June followed by weeks of uncertainty at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
Initially the diagnosis was devastating, but family, friends and even strangers maintained faith and prayed for a miracle.
And then it happened, a true miracle.
Although Mikey continues to endure in-patient treatment to fight Leukemia, his prognosis is good. And for that reason Mikey’s family would like to celebrate as well as build awareness about the increased chance of Down syndrome individuals developing Leukemia.
So, please join us for an exciting celebration to help raise money for Awakening Angels, a nonprofit organization that funds critical research at Case Western Reserve University and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, as well as community resources that support families affected by Down syndrome and Autism, specifically the Michael T. George Welcome House and St. Edward High School’s St. Andre’s Scholars Program.
