George Student Success Center, a state-of-the-art learning commons that supports the needs of every student at St. Ed’s through enhanced collaboration from school counselors, tutors, intervention specialists, psychologists and social workers who partner to ensure every student at St. Ed’s has the resources he needs to thrive. It’s also the home of the St. Andre Scholars Program, serving young men with intellectual or developmental disabilities who are provided with the fullness of a St. Ed’s experience. Our beautiful daughter Milana was born with Congenital Heart Defects and Down Syndrome. At just 4 months of age, she had an open-heart surgery. Milana had an ng tube since 3 months of age which eventually resulted in a gtube placement. After many failed sessions with numerous amounts of therapists and feeding clinics, we had finally found a therapist that has helped us tremendously. Her name is Jodi. Milana and she have developed a strong bond, and she is the only therapist our daughter will eat and drink for. She is irreplaceable.

With a change of insurance and a change in an unexpected circumstance beginning of the year, we were unable to afford to continue our sessions with Jodi.

However, thank you to the amazing generosity of Awakening Angels, we were able to resume our weekly sessions. Currently, we are working towards a trial with the goal of being weaned off the gtube hopefully by the end of this year.

This is all possible because of the generous gift we received from the Awakening Angels. We are beyond appreciative for this beautiful gift and will forever be grateful for their amazing support in helping our daughter. With our deepest gratitude, thank you so much!

“The Angie Fowler Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Institute at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s is dedicated to improving outcomes for cancer patients between the ages of 15-30. Angie’s Institute provides state-of-the-art clinical, social and emotional support in an age-appropriate setting, acknowledging that teens and young adults face unique challenges that differ from younger children and older adults.
